June:
In the absence of rain, water deeply 2-3 times per week.
Fertilize flower beds.
Keep lawn mowed to the proper height.
Remove small sprouts from the base and trunk of tree-form Crape Myrtles.
Watch for Japanese beetles in your garden.

July:
Add fresh pine straw if needed
Lay Bermuda, Centipede, or Zoysia sod in bare spots.
Fertilize Crape Myrtles, Butterfly Bushes, and Hydrangeas.
Pinch out the branch tips of Chrysanthemums to stimulate more branches in which fall flowers will appear.
Water your lawn in the early morning to avoid evaporation losses.

August :
Check for sooty mold on Crape Myrtles. This black soot-like fungus is caused by aphid infestation. Spray with insecticide for aphids.
Consider replacing grass with ground cover in areas that have thinned out due to too much shade.
Examine Junipers and Leyland Cypress for bagworms. If detected remove the entire nest from your property.
Fertilize roses to stimulate fall blooming.
Replace mulch to protect plants and conserve moisture.
